Breathe

Voluntary breathing happens in the pre-frontal cortex, the higher part of your brain where you have self-regulation and executive functioning. We can use breath as a wedge between your subonscious where things like breath are automatic, and your higher self. Breath can disrupt unwanted subconscious patterns of perception and behavior, and can coax you in and out of desired state or conditions, of your mind, body and being.


Move

Conscious exercise promotes the growth of new brain cells, upgrades your immune system, detoxifies your organs, balances your moods and gives you access to longevity while helping you stay nimble and resilient emotionally. Somatic movement trains you to move from the intelligence of your own body with guided patterns to help rewire you to be more balanced, strong, flexible, centered, agile and intuitive. Trauma of any kind can get stored in the body’s patterning of movement, reactivity and range of stress tolerance. Our movement sessions can be focused on athletic performance, deep healing of the layers of self through the body, or both.


Nourish

Emily studied Integrative Nutrition to answer the patterns of limitations she noticed in herself and her clients over two decades of guiding somatic healing movement and outdoor expeditions. Her nutrition is practical, non-dogmatic, and open to your body’s unique needs. It’s rooted in the neuro-biology of how the gut and brain work together to support stability in the whole being. She helps people disrupt limiting patterns in food behavior and align with nourishment that feeds the whole self.


This skill has more to do with what you do during the day than what you do at night. Sleep is a cornerstone skill that if missed negates the progress you could make in focusing on other areas of your health. Sleep aids with all bodily functions especially with cellular repair, immune function, digestion, and in keeping you nimble and resilient to life’s inevitable stress. Sleep skills include Yoga Nidra, relaxation and breath techniques, and an overview of dominant stress patterns including lack of sympathetic tone or outdoor movement time.
